Conestoga High School Lockdown Today-Threat prompt lockdown at Tredyffrin/Easttown School District

A reported threat led to a lockdown at Conestoga High School on Monday, raising concern among students, parents, and the wider Tredyffrin/Easttown School District community.

According to confirmed reports, the lockdown was triggered by what authorities described as a “potential swatting call”—a false emergency report intended to prompt a large law enforcement response. The incident occurred shortly after the start of the school day, leading officials to immediately activate safety protocols.

Law enforcement officers quickly responded to the campus, securing the building and investigating the situation. Students and staff remained inside classrooms under lockdown procedures while authorities conducted a sweep of the school.

Within approximately an hour, police determined that there was no active threat. The lockdown at Conestoga High School was lifted after officials confirmed the campus was safe. Authorities later confirmed the incident was indeed a swatting hoax.

As a precaution, nearby schools within the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District also implemented safety measures, including restricted movement inside buildings. Officials emphasized that all students and staff across the district were safe and accounted for.

Police noted that similar false threats have been reported in other areas, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible. Increased police presence remained at the school following the incident as an added precaution.

Conestoga High School, the district’s only high school, serves thousands of students in Chester County and is part of a well-regarded suburban school system.

While the situation was ultimately deemed a false alarm, the incident underscores the seriousness with which schools and law enforcement respond to potential threats. Officials continue to urge the public to avoid spreading unverified information and to report credible concerns through proper channels.

Further updates may be released as the investigation into the source of the call continues.
